A Word from the Founder

I have always carried the desire in my heart to one day establish a nonprofit organization that would help people. I believed that each of us has a gift to share with others, and for a long time I searched for a way to make my own contribution.

Last year, I had the opportunity to learn about the work of an organization that supported mothers and babies. Its mission touched me deeply, not only because I recognized its importance, but also because it connected with a very personal part of my life.

For eight years, I struggled to become a mother. Although that wish did not come true in the way I had hoped, I believe no experience is ever wasted. That journey taught me just how important support, understanding, and a helping hand are when a woman needs them most.

I then realized how close this mission was to my heart and how deeply I wanted to be part of something that would bring hope, security, and support to pregnant women, mothers, and their babies during the most important moments of their lives.

Along the way, I met two wonderful women, Jovana and Maja, who shared the same vision and values. Together, we launched an initiative that eventually grew into the Sunašce Mamino association. Olga and Ana later joined us as members of the Board, sharing our mission and our desire to build an organization that serves mothers, babies, and their families. For me, this is a lifelong dream fulfilled and a calling that I believe God entrusted to me.

I spent almost three decades in the business world, leading large teams and organizations. Today, I want to bring that experience to the nonprofit sector. I believe that an association serving its community must be managed responsibly, professionally, and with respect for every person who places their trust in us.

To me, that means working conscientiously, honoring agreements and one another’s time, keeping accurate records, following facts and information, remaining transparent in our work, and making every decision with responsibility and love. We want this combination of professionalism and compassion to be the foundation of our association.

My greatest wish is for every mother and every baby who comes to us to feel that they are not alone. Years from now, I hope our families can look back and say that Sunašce Mamino was a small but important part of their journey — that we were there when they needed support most.

I believe that every supported mother builds a stronger family, and every loved and protected child has the chance to grow into a kind, responsible, and happy member of society. If we have contributed to that in even a small way, I will know that we have fulfilled our mission.
