Founder’s Message

I have always carried a wish in my heart to one day create a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping others. I have long believed that each of us has something to give, and for many years I searched for the way in which I could make my own contribution.

Last year, I had the opportunity to learn about the work of an organization supporting mothers and babies. Its mission touched me deeply—not only because I understood how meaningful this work could be, but because it connected with a very personal part of my own life.

For eight years, I hoped and fought to become a mother. Although that dream did not come true in the way I had hoped, I believe that no experience is ever without meaning. That journey taught me just how important support, understanding, and an outstretched hand can be during the moments when a woman needs them most.

It was then that I understood how close this mission was to my heart, and how deeply I wanted to be part of something that could bring hope, security, and support to expectant mothers, mothers, and their babies during some of the most important moments of their lives.

Along the way, I met two wonderful women, Jovana and Maja, who shared the same vision and values. Together, we began an initiative that, over time, grew into Mommy’s Little Sunshine. Later, Olga and Ana joined us as members of our Board, sharing our mission and our desire to build an organization that would serve mothers, babies, and their families. For me, this is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream—and a calling I believe God has entrusted to me.

I have spent nearly three decades in the business world, leading large teams and organizations. Today, I want to bring that experience into the nonprofit sector. I believe that an organization serving its community should be led responsibly, professionally, and with respect for every person who places their trust in us.

For me, that means working with integrity, honoring our commitments and one another’s time, maintaining careful records, following facts and information, being transparent in our work, and making every decision with both responsibility and compassion. It is this combination of professionalism and compassion that we want to place at the heart of our organization.

My greatest hope is that every mother and every baby who comes to us will feel that they are not alone. I hope that, years from now, the families we support will be able to look back and say that Mommy’s Little Sunshine was a small but meaningful part of their journey—that we were there when they needed support most.

I believe that every mother who is supported helps build a stronger family, and that every child who grows up loved and safe has the opportunity to one day become a kind, responsible, and happy member of our society. If we can contribute even a little toward making that possible, I will know that we have fulfilled our mission.
